  Step 1: Welcome to Weston-super-Mare. Today, we’ll show you a short walk along the lovely seafront. Start at the entrance to the Grand Pier.

• Step 2: Did you know the 'super' part of Weston-super-Mare is medieval Latin? Super (with small s) means on or above, and mare is Latin for sea.

• Step 3: During the 19th century Weston grew from a tiny village of about 100 or so inhabitants to a thriving Victorian seaside resort of nearly 20,000 people.

• 

  Step 4: Facing the Grand Pier, turn left first.

• Step 5: After just a bit, there’s a set of public toilets. There’s also the Weston Ferris wheel, if you’re interested!

• 

  Step 6: When you’re ready, turn around and head back towards the Grand Pier.
