  Step 1: Warkworth Dunes Picnic Site has a free car park. Post code: NE65 0SW. It’s also accessible via bus on the popular X18 coastal service.

• 

  Step 2: From the Warkworth Dunes Picnic Site, walk past the public loos and down the sloping sandy track towards the dunes.

• 

  Step 3: Along the way you’ll pass wildflowers in spring and summer as well as picnic benches. Watch out for flying golf balls en route.

• 

  Step 4: Keep going downhill and following the path towards the sea. Can you hear its roar yet?

• 

  Step 5: Take a moment to stop and admire the incredible views. When you’re ready make your way down to the shore.

• 

  Step 6: Depending on whether it’s high or low tide for you, the vista maybe different to these pictures. Turn right for this route.
