Step 1: Important Note: The tunnel is closed at night from around 6pm or 7pm and in the autumn/winter from Sept - April in order to protect the bats. Please check local information before setting off.
Step 2: This walk starts on the bridge of Netherhope Lane which is beside the entrance to the Tidenham Tunnel.
Step 3: There is also car parking at the local dive centre if you prefer to start from there. This is a cycle friendly route as well.
Step 4: You might prefer to flip to map view and walk alongside the Tidenham path on the public footpath to the previous bridge and access the walkway from there (especially if you are uncomfortable following a ‘desire line’).
Step 5: We followed a small desire line path through the wooded area, to the left of the bridge. It was muddy and steep but we made it. Turn right.
Step 6: Make your way towards the tunnel. Be aware of cyclists. The tunnel is very dark. You’re not allowed to put your torch on. Dogs on leads.
