  Step 1: Begin by heading all the way down to a set of white gates on Mentmore Gardens. Follow the pathway until you reach a right hand turn.

• 

  Step 2: Head down this path (which takes you along part of the Grand Union Canal) until it terminates.

• 

  Step 3: Turn right here to enter Tiddenfoot Waterside Park, the site of what used to be an old sand quarry.

• 

  Step 4: Along the way, you'll find lots of bird singing in the trees (even on a grey day). Head anti-clockwise around the lake

• 

  Step 5: There's waterfowl too, along with breeding swans and a fancy grebe or diving plover, if you're lucky.

• 

  Step 6: If you keep going round the circle, there's a new(ish) hide too - great rest break if you bought a flask or sarnies. Good view of the lake.
