Step 1: Start in the centre of Thornham, by the church. Heading towards the coast turn right, taking a footpath left as you head down the road.
Step 2: Part of the route is subject to tidal flooding, check your tide times. The route also heads through a nature reserve, dogs must be on leads.
Step 3: You’ll soon see a left here, take it. A path shouldered by dog roses, thorned stems that loop about blackberry briers.
Step 4: Fallen rose petals suggest the origin of the heart?
Step 5: Enjoy the solace of the reeds and their perennial request for silence.
Step 6: Turn right when you reach the road and head towards the old coal house.
