• 

  Step 1: Start at St Gabriel's in Clontarf. There is some parking here or you can get here on the 130 bus. Start by walking down the hill.

• 

  Step 2: Turn left at the bottom of the road and head towards the seafront.

• 

  Step 3: The wooden bridge leads on to North Bull Island, a UNESCO nature reserve and public park.

• 

  Step 4: North Bull Island is home to many wading and sea birds - the channel is dry at low tide and a few feet deep at high tide.

• 

  Step 5: Dublin port is visible across the water with the Wicklow mountains in the distance.

• 

  Step 6: The Royal Dublin golf course has hosted the Irish open and is one of two golf courses on the island.
