Step 1: This is a linear route along the Holme Beck river towards Mainsgill Farm shop. The car park gets busy so why not walk there instead? We recommend bringing an empty bag so you can stock up with goodies at the shop.
Step 2: We bought a dog with us on this walk but please bear in mind they can’t go inside the shop. There is an outdoor seating area and kids playground so it’s possible to get lunch or a picnic and eat outside.
Step 3: This walk starts on Stoneygate Bank. There is a bus stop at the Village Green just by The Bay Horse Inn. Follow the road down.
Step 4: Please note that there is no designated footway so please watch out for vehicles. You may prefer to walk on the side of oncoming traffic so you are more visible.
Step 5: Cross over the main road towards the right hand side by this old brick bridge. You won’t miss the big black cross.
Step 6: On the right hand side, follow the signs for the public footpath. Look out for the stile.
