  • Step 1: This walk takes you around the Roman Walls of one of the oldest walled cities in Britain. Chester, was founded as a Roman Fortress in the 1st century A.D. & the walls provide a patchwork history of this fantastic old city.

  • We start the walk at the foot of the Eastgate Clock. It is said to be the most photographed clock in England after Big Ben, so grab a snap!

  • Step 3: The Eastgate Clock Tower stands on a three arched sandstone structure dating from 1768 and forms part of the City Walls. The clock & bridge were designated Grade I listed in 1955, although the clock has been restored a few times.
