Step 1: Newark House is a paid-for attraction. Check the National Trust website for details. NT Members park for free and dogs on leads are welcome.
Step 2: Once you’ve paid at the kiosk, go through the gate into the grounds. Look out for cows grazing in the fields.
Step 3: As you enter, you can see the small tea pavilion cafe and picnic area on the right.
Step 4: On the left is this rather grand house and former hunting lodge.
Step 5: The quaint gardens are particularly pretty in summer and planted seasonally. These Dahlias caught our eye in particular.
Step 6: If you go around to the front of the house there are great views of Ozleworth valley and to the Mendips beyond.
