• Step 1: This new coastal walk was brought to you in partnership with TOG24 and National Trails to celebrate the renaming of the King Charles III England Coast Path (KCIIIECP). Expect family-friendly fun, lovely beaches and vitamin sea!

• Step 2: Welcome to this short nature loop around Souter Lighthouse.

• 

  Step 3: There is a car park beside the lighthouse but local buses also come nearby including the C1 Sunderland - South Shields.

• 

  Step 4: The lighthouse is immediately visible but head back out of the car park to start this walk.

• Step 5: Souter Lighthouse was opened in 1872 and was a marvel of its age. It was the first lighthouse in the world designed and built to be powered by electricity.

• 

  Step 6: Pass through the car park and follow the tarmac road down hill.
