Step 1: A good place to park for Lon Goed is where it intersects the B4354 just east of the village of Chwilog
Step 2: There is plenty of space available to park by the edge of the lane here
Step 3: Dog-walkers: it’s worth taking note of this convenient dog-poo bin near the start/end of the walk.
Step 4: The Lôn Goed starts by the coast, in the village of Afon Wen, on the main road A497 about half a mile to the south of Chwilog and half-way between Criccieth and Pwllheli.
Step 5: The lane was created between 1819 and 1828 for the carriage of limestone and peat to farms of the Mostyn Estate. It runs inland for about 5 miles in a northerly direction to Hendre Cennin, at the foot of Mynydd y Cennin.
Step 6: There are some interestingly sculpted benches at intervals along the early section of the walk, with Welsh poetic inscriptions.
