Step 1: Arrive via DLR or bus near to the Limehouse basin. We arrived via Wapping and the D3 bus, otherwise Limehouse station is served by the DLR via Canary Wharf or Bank. We crossed the main road and took the Basin Approach Road.
Step 2: Walk down Basin Approach then right to reach this bridge. Turn left just before this bridge.
Step 3: Walk to the end and the information sign and turn left for a view of Canary Wharf. It’s clean and quiet in this area.
Step 4: Walk around the basin and you spot this tower above the DLR viaduct. This was part of a hydraulic power system for cranes in the basin.
Step 5: Head across the bridge and then down to the canal side. Turn to go under the bridge and away from the basin.
Step 6: Follow the bend of the canal and walk past Ropemakers field. You may hear and see the nearby St Anne’s church bell tower.
