Walk preview

1. 

   Step 1: Park at Marsden Station. Free on Sundays

2. 

   Step 2: Follow the tow path on canal that sits in front of the station.

3. 

   Step 3: Walk to mouth of Standedge Tunnel. This is the highest, deepest and longest canal tunnel in Great Britain.

4. 

   Step 4: Walk back to then take the track the barge horses followed over the top as they couldn’t go through the tunnel

5. 

   Step 5: Walk up and follow path, taking a right turn as you approach Manchester Road.

6. 

   Step 6: Follow the path up joining Manchester Road. As you reach the sharp bend road sign cross over and cross the stile and bear right.
