  Step 1: Hope off the train at Harwich Town. There’s no rush to get off as it’s the last stop on the line.

• 

  Step 2: As you exit the station head towards the blue cranes...

• 

  Step 3: ...and turn left before you reach High Lighthouse.

• 

  Step 4: Head up West Street, admiring some fine houses. The port is full of them!

• 

  Step 5: As you reach the sea, turn right and walk to Ha’Penny Pier which is just ahead of you.

• 

  Step 6: Ha’Penny Pier was built in 1853. It’s name originated from the half penny toll that was charged. The cafe is a nice stop.
