• 

  Step 1: Stage 8 begins at Broadbottom Station, with regular train services on the Manchester-Glossop line. Infrequent buses also serve the village.

• Step 2: Please note that parts of this walk may be damp, muddy and slippery at any time of year and especially after periods of wet weather. Please bear this in mind when planning your trip.

• 

  Step 3: Exit the station from platform 1 via the ticket office or the gate to its right.

• 

  Step 4: Bear right up the ramp leading to Mottram Road.

• 

  Step 5: Once at the top, turn right onto the pavement of Mottram Road and follow it slightly downhill through the village.

• 

  Step 6: Cross the station car park access road and continue along the pavement.
