• 

  Step 1: This walk starts at Irlam train station which has connections to from. Manchester. The friendly cafe (with toilets) is well worth a visit.

• 

  Step 2: There are steps down to well-signposted exits from the station. Take the southern, Liverpool Road exit (the opposite side from the cafe).

• 

  Step 3: Upon exiting the station take the wide tarmac path to the right.

• 

  Step 4: Continue onto Liverpool Road, using the pavement.

• 

  Step 5: After a short walk down Liverpool Road turn right into Dean Road.

• 

  Step 6: Over half way up Dean Road on the left is the entrance to a public footpath between houses. Follow this gravel path.
