An 8km circular walk from Arkwright’s Mill via Black Rocks, the High Peak Trail & Cromford Canal. Steep in parts but well worth the effort!

Step 1: In 1771, Sir Richard Arkwright built the world’s first water-powered cotton mill right here in Cromford.
Step 2: It is here you will start your walk. There is parking next to the mill at Cromford Wharf, & the mill itself now houses shops, cafes & a visitor centre that tells the story of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Step 3: Cross the A6 in front of The Greyhound. Head to the right of the Market Place & follow the small road behind the shops.
