• 

  Step 1: Park along Pound Lane, Mannings Heath. The bridleway is off the A281 heading North, past Elite Garage and the entrance to Rickfield Farm.

• 

  Step 2: Some parts of the bridleway were very overgrown and narrow for a person, never mind a horse!

• 

  Step 3: Cross a stream and head through the gate into this field.

• 

  Step 4: A stream runs along the right-hand side in front of the hedge.

• 

  Step 5: The field itself is pasture, not crops. In mid-July it was all a-flutter with butterflies.

• 

  Step 6: Follow the hedge line on the right. At the corner, go through the gate into a finger of mixed woodland.
