  • Step 2: This nature reserve is run by the Essex Wildlife Trust. It’s a beautiful remnant of an ancient woodland with small meadows. In spring and summer you can find wildflowers and butterflies. There are no facilities on site.

  • Step 3: Well behaved dogs are welcome. In winter it gets very muddy. Parts of this trail share a bridleway. The reserve is open all year around.

  • Follow the main path into the nature reserve. In spring blossom, the flora is buzzing with bees.
