Step 5: Created between 1894 & 1902, the Monument to the Girondins is one of Bordeaux’s most distinctive landmarks.
Step 6: The monument honours the Girondins, a group of moderate bourgeois National Assembly deputies during the French Revolution. 22 of them were executed in 1793 after being convicted of counter-revolutionary activities.
