Step 1: Welcome! This walk starts here at Bell Meadow.
Step 2: It’s just a short walk from Chelmsford train station, which has regular trains to & from London, as well as other areas in Essex. The nearest bus stops include New London Road, Retail Market or the Job Centre.
Step 3: Bell Meadow links to Central Park with a footpath & cycle network. Follow this path alongside the River Can.
Step 4: On your right you’ll pass the Boer War Memorial. There are commemorative benches here if you’d like to take a moment.
Step 5: This memorial commemorates soldiers of the Essex Regiment who gave their lives in the Anglo-Boer War in 1899-1902.
Step 6: Pass underneath Parkway. This path is shared by cyclists & pedestrians so please keep to the right hand side.
