  Step 1: Start this walk at the new Ashington train station which has onwards connectivity to the City of Newcastle and St James Park.

• 

  Step 2: Head out of the carpark on the west side and cross over Kenilworth Road.

• Step 3: Just further up Kenilworth Road on the left we find Ashington Cricket Club. Can you spot the wall plaque? Take a closer look.

• 

  Step 4: Ashington has produced a number of notable cricketers including Mark Wood, Simon Smith and Ben and Steve Harmison.

• 

  Step 5: In warmer months, why not enjoy a game? You can sit at the front of the club house or around the grounds.

• 

  Step 6: Exit the club and cross back over Kenilworth Road.
