  Step 1: There is parking at Crosby Leisure centre as well as toilets and many cafes nearby. This walk is best done at a low ish tide

• 

  Step 2: I went at low tide and sunset. The beach is huge so you can either stay on the promenade or choose your own route

• 

  Step 3: I opted for a circular route that takes you down to the sea and among the statues

• 

  Step 4: The effect is quite eerie so let's take the next few steps without comment
