  • Step 1: This walk starts on Mill Bridge. Take the steps down towards the canal. Sadly the route is not fully accessible but smaller prams are able to get through and you must be prepared to lift it up several steps.

  • Look out for the big willow tree in your left and continue along the fenced off footbridge.

  • The Eller Beck runs right by and during wet or stormy weather it’s pretty rapid.

  • Step 4: You’ll be walking alongside the old High Cotton Mill, which is now a small shopping complex and worth a visit.

  • Continue along this footbridge to follow the route towards Skipton’s ancient woodland.

  • There are great views up towards Skipton castle. The nearby ancient woodland was probably one of the reasons the castle was built here.
