• 

  Step 1: Start at Allestree Park car park off Duffield Road (A6)

• 

  Step 2: Turn left out of the car park and head across the picnic field towards the lake to find fixed point #1

• 

  Step 3: Fixed point #2 will give you views over the ephemeral ponds

• 

  Step 4: Look out for evidence of badger activity at fixed point #3

• 

  Step 5: Fixed point #4 is at the southern end of Big Wood, you can download a Big Wood Nature Trail map from the Friends of Allestree Park website

• 

  Step 6: You’re almost at the highest point of Allestree Park and half way through the fixed points!
