Step 1: Welcome to Luxembourg City’s Place d’Armes! Today, you’ll be following the iconic Wenzel Walk, showcasing more than 1,000 years of history.
Step 2: Place d’Armes is the heart of the pedestrianised district of the city. It’s so named because it used to be a parade ground for troops stationed in the city. Today, enjoy the friendly environment of the surrounding cafes and shops.
Step 3: The Wenzel Trail pays tribute to Wenceslas II, Duke of Luxembourg between 1383 and 1419 during whose reign a part of the third ring, the so-called Wenzel wall, was erected. The trail showcases the World Heritage site of the city.
Step 4: When you’re ready, let’s head out. Facing the grand Cercle Municipal building, head down the narrow lane to its left.
Step 5: The winding streets and little plazas of city centre are so charming, with much to discover, like this fascinating statue.
Step 6: Cross over Rue du Fosse, open to vehicles, and continue straight ahead. Veer right at the first junction.
