Step 1: Zipcar has over 1000 fully electric cars that members can drive, with most available in their one-way Flex service (like a self-drive taxi).
Step 2: This walk starts at the Ashridge Visitor Centre (HP4 1LX). Open all year. Car parking is ample, £2 but free for National Trust members.
Step 3: March - October opening times for the cafe, toilets and shop are 10am - 5pm. Note that it’s a 4pm closing during winter. It’s possible to do a shorter more flat version of this walk finishing at Step 37.
Step 4: After Step 37, some paths do get quite steep and extra slippery and muddy in wet or wintry weather so please do bring the right footwear.
Step 5: Dogs are welcome onsite but need to be on leads around Monument Drive. On this walk enjoy over 5000 acres of mystical woodland, sweeping chalk hills and windswept commons. Check the local signage boards for more information. 😃
Step 6: With your back to the visitor centre and shop, turn right, we’re going to walk around the drive towards the monument.
