  Step 1: Stanwick Lakes is a 750 acre site of Special Scientific Interest on the A45 in East Northants

• 

  Step 2: To begin, stand with the Visitors Centre behind you and walk North West, past the Walkers Rest cafe

• 

  Step 3: Approach the signage on the main pathway and turn left ( along the disused track-route of the old Northampton to Peterborough railway )

• 

  Step 4: Pass the Crafts Barn ( which frequently holds events )

• 

  Step 5: And the traditionally built Ancestral Barn

• 

  Step 6: Pause to view the Heritage Gardens ... with plantings that reflect the site's Iron Age history
