• Step 1: This walks takes you out into the countryside to discover four beautiful wooden sculptures.

• 

  Step 2: We’ll look out for these interpretation points along the way.

• Step 3: The Model Yacht, Sanderling, Marsh Harrier and Salt Pot are the work of wood carver Luke Chapman. They are crafted from timbers from a locally sourced Nelson Oak Tree which was struck by lightning and had to be felled.

• 

  Step 4: The first sculpture can be found beside the boating lake, just a short walk from Southwold Pier past the beach huts.

• 

  Step 5: Here you can read about the genteel pursuit of sailing model yachts and the men who created them.

• 

  Step 6: We now head out into the marsh area. The footpaths are good, but if the weather is or has been wet, you may need sensible shoes!
