Step 1: Your walk begins here at Huntingdon Castle (Castle Hills).
Step 2: Following a Norman invasion William I raised an earth & timber castle to control the area. Work began on the castle in 1068. By 1173 the castle was held by the Kings of Scotland but was later demolished by Henry II.
Step 3: There is also a beacon located at Castle Hills.
Step 4: Turn right onto Castle Moat Road. Did you know that Huntingdon is the birthplace of Oliver Cromwell?
Step 5: The Riverside Park begins near to the Old Bridge Hotel & runs for 2km along the riverbank.
Step 6: Please cross the road using the pedestrian crossings as this is a busy road. You’re heading towards the river. Take the footpath to the left, away from the bridge.
