Ormand Beach

Walk preview

1. 

   Step 1: This is the sign at the eastern entrance to Ormand Beach.

2. Step 2: Ormand Beach is the beach fronting the Ormand Wetlands and some farmlands near Oxnard in Ventura County. It is a well-known birding area with trails that follow a canal and the restored wetlands.

3. 

   Step 3: Here is the entrance to the beach at the end of Arnold Road.

4. 

   Step 4: The gate at the end of the road posts the hours the beach is open to visitors and other guidance. It is a pity I can’t bring my dog here.

5. 

   Step 5: We are going to follow the canal to the beach to extend our walk.

6. 

   Step 6: On the beach at a distance is a power plant we walk towards. You’ll see a variety of birds in and around the canal to your right.
