• Step 1: Please note that the causeway leading to Holy Island floods at high tide so it is very important to check the tide times and opening times before crossing over.

• Step 2: Most people cross the dramatic causeway to reach the island of Lindisfarne via car but some people also walk over following the pole guides in the sand, highlighting the best route. There is a big car park on Chare Ends Road.

• Step 3: This walk is not wheel-friendly & also includes a scramble down a rope ladder off a small cliff. It was fine for a healthy dog to run down & a primary-aged child to scamper down. There is a longer diversion to avoid this.
