  Step 1: Car parking for this walk is in a wide roadside space on a minor road off the A4212, near the hamlet of Arenig

• 

  Step 2: Go through the gate opposite the car parking space, which gives access to a firm steep track running uphill towards Arenig Fawr

• 

  Step 3: This area is “Open Access” land, and gets grazed regularly by sheep. Please take care to keep dogs on leads and under firm control

• 

  Step 4: Follow the track uphill, rising beneath the electricity power lines

• 

  Step 5: Soon the track begins to curve around towards the left

• 

  Step 6: The track continues to rise, though the gradient does get progressively easier
