Step 1: This walk was created in partnership with Cherwell District Council. Enjoy over 30 walks across North Oxfordshire and experience the sights and sounds of nature as you go.
Step 2: Welcome to Kidlington. This route starts at St Mary’s Church, where you’ll find a small car park.
Step 3: If you’d like to come to Kidlington by bus, for example from Oxford, frequent buses go on Oxford Road. You can join the route from Exeter Hall around step 66 and follow round from there.
Step 4: Before heading out, feel free to go into the churchyard at St Mary’s. This beautiful church dates back to 1220 and is listed in Simon Jenkins’ ‘1,000 Best Churches’, noted for its medieval stained glass and carved bench-ends.
Step 5: St Mary’s has a 165-foot (50 m) spire known as “Our Lady’s Needle”. The tower has a ring of eight bells. It is a Grade I listed building.
Step 6: When you’re ready, let’s head out. Facing away from the churchyard gate, head straight ahead down the left-hand side of Church Street.
