  Step 1: Start at the car park at Dolaucothi gold mines. The mine is a separate visit

• 

  Step 2: This route will take you over the river.

• 

  Step 3: The area was mined by the Romans and again in the 19th and 20th centuries

• 

  Step 4: The red waymarked route is the estate walk. This one has a very steep climb up

• 

  Step 5: It is worth it though for the views

• 

  Step 6: Some of the waymarkers are hard to see and we spent some time wandering round a field. With views like this though It didn’t matter
