  Step 1: This walk starts at Charmouth. There’s paid parking near the beach or why not jump on the bus, the Jurassic Coaster!

• 

  Step 2: At the Beach Cafe there’s loos just behind. The beach has some sand at low-tide and a lot of people visit for a good fossil hunting session.

• 

  Step 3: You can hire fossil hunting tools at the Charmouth Heritage Centre. Stick to the rules, read the signs. Stay away from cliff edges.

• 

  Step 4: Walk away from the Beach Cafe, and head towards the east beach and cliffs (on the left as you’re facing the sea).

• 

  Step 5: You may have to dodge through the lower car park or if you can’t resist join others in the water.

• 

  Step 6: Walk past the blue beach huts and wade over the mouth of the River Char which is popular with families or cross over the wooden foot bridge.
