  • Step 2: We recommend coming prepared with comfortable walking shoes, layers appropriate for the weather, a water bottle, and some snacks. Don’t worry - there’s lots of refreshments along the way to stop and rest.

  • Step 3: How long the Freedom Trail takes to walk depends on how much time you have! You could take three days and still not see everything! We did it in about half a day, but it all depends on how many stops you make.

  • When you're ready, let's head out. Facing away from the visitors center, note the iconic red brick path going left.

  • Veer left to walk parallel to Tremont Street, following the red bricks. You'll follow the line of bricks all the way to Bunker Hill!
