  Step 1: If you're an English Heritage member park in the car park, otherwise on the road up to it. Start the walk by the gate at the coach parking.

• 

  Step 2: Follow the path along the moat, keeping the castle walls on your left.

• 

  Step 3: Spot the canon on the left walls.

• 

  Step 4: Across the canon, take the right offshoot through the tree shrubs.

• 

  Step 5: Through the tree tunnel, turn left.

• 

  Step 6: Pass by the rather unique car parking system in aid of children's charities.
