  • This walk starts at Barmouth railway station, served by trains on the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli, Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury.

    Step 1: This walk starts at Barmouth railway station, served by trains on the Cambrian Coast Line to Pwllheli, Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury.

  • Step 2: Please note that Barmouth Bridge which is crossed in this walk will be closed from 02/09/23 for 12 weeks.

  • Exit the station onto Marine Road. There are toilets on right after the exit if you need. Otherwise, turn left towards Beach Road.

  • Turn right into Beach Road and cross the Promenade.

    Step 4: Turn right into Beach Road and cross the Promenade.

  • Ahead of you is the sandy Abermaw Beach. Turn left, following the Welsh Coast Path signs, to walk with the sea on your right.

  • The footpath is wide and flat and there are plenty of benches.
