  Step 1: Welcome to Antwerp! This walk begins at the gorgeous train station in the city, a landmark in its own right!

• Step 2: Today, we‘ll show you around the city, but from the perspective of an urban and transport planner. It’ll be light on history and heavy on noticing little details about how sustainable cities work. We hope it’s still fun!

  Step 3: The first thing we’ll notice is this scooter ‘drop zone’. Antwerp has provided hundreds of these to help prevent irresponsible parking.

  Step 4: Continuing to the right, head into the plaza in front of the station. This plaza is a bit unfriendly - are there any places to sit??

• 

  Step 5: Note the ‘wayfinding’ here, pointing people in the right direction. Even in the age of the smartphone, these are so helpful!

• 

  Step 6: Let’s take a quick trip underground. Take the down escalator in front of the station.
