  Step 1: Parking at Rowlands Castle Recreation Ground is free and convenient. We started our walk there.

• 

  Step 2: Leave the car park and walk towards the Parish Hall.

• 

  Step 3: This building dates back to 1914.

• 

  Step 4: Lovely gardens lie ahead. This is butterfly bush, known for its distinctive bright purple flowers. Don’t confuse it with lilac!

• 

  Step 5: You are now standing opposite the Church on the Green. Take a moment to admire the garden.

• 

  Step 6: Next to the church, you will find a waymarker for the Shipwrights Way. Follow the sign.
