  Step 1: Walk up the road away from the A66.

• 

  Step 2: At the pheasant inn, take the road signposted for Wythop mill.

• 

  Step 3: After a few yards there's a muddy path on the left which takes you into the woods behind the inn.

• 

  Step 4: Turn left at the junction with the forest road.

• 

  Step 5: Then immediately take the path on the right.

• 

  Step 6: At the next forest track junction turn left and then take the track which swings right upwards.
