Step 1: We began this walk at Rails Road but it’s also possible to do the walk from the other end of the trail, just begin at Malin Bridge! It’s an easy going & easy to follow route.
Step 2: The car park on Rails Road is the site of the old Rivelin Corn Mill, the only mill on the trail not for producing metal
Step 3: Two water wheels, fed with water from this pond, turned grinding wheels to make flour until the 1920s
Step 4: Exit the car park and cross the road. Join the footpath on the other side
Step 5: Take a look at the lovely packhorse bridge but stay on this side of the river to explore the heritage & nature trail
Step 6: The bridge carried the packhorse route between Stannington & Crosspool over the River Rivelin from around 1775
